Injuries are a common part in the wrestling world and almost every wrestler faces them before calling it a day. But it is unfortunate when an injury forces a certain superstar to quit wrestling.
WWE Hall of Famer Sting recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and spoke about retiring from in-ring action in the WWE and also about his last run.
Sting reportedly told, “I got hurt wrestling Seth, and the neurosurgeons and everybody [were] saying I needed surgery, and then I had trouble with cervical spinal stenosis, or whatever they call it, and there were two areas in my neck that were really messed up bad, although I don’t have any pain or side-effects.”
He concluded by saying that, after listening to the doctor’s suggestions he decided to hang up his boots and stay away from in-ring action.
