The recently concluded pay-per-view WWE Crown Jewel received a lot of negative reviews due to the amount of ridiculous booking decisions, one of which was crowning Shane McMahon as the ‘Best in the World’ and letting him win the WWE World Cup. Many fans questioned the decision of handing the trophy over to a superstar who was not even a part of the tournament in the first place, but according to some reports we can explain you why did the WWE go with this idea.
According to several reports, the sole idea behind crowning Shane McMahon as the winner of the tournament was to start the feud between RAW and Smackdown LIVE going forward to Survivor Series. The acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin already questioned the unfair entry into the match after the show went off air and we need to wait till Tuesday to see how this will shape up.
“As far as I can see the cup that Shane McMahon is now carrying around for SmackDown Live is tainted. He didn’t earn it. He didn’t qualify for his spot. I threw an opponent out of the World Cup Tournament for not qualifying and he thinks he can just go out there and do that? It’s a joke. Shane McMahon is a joke. I hope to see him in the future,” said Baron Corbin after the tournament.
Also according to the same reports Shane McMahon has turned heel and they will use this to project the blue brand as the heels this time around for the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
